Hair Straightener Good Idea For Guys?

I was thinking of getting my hair straightened for the first time. I have this problem where my hair on my sides grow faster than the front, so they stick out. My nickname is ';mushroom head.'; Is straightening a good idea? Does it hurt if the thing is close to your head?Hair Straightener Good Idea For Guys?
Yes! Please straighten your hair, I find it incredibly annoying (no offense) when the guy's hair just goes ';woosh'; and out to the sides. It won't hurt if it's close to your head, but be careful so that the straightener doesn't burn you. If it does, it's a quick thing that'll be over in a few seconds.Hair Straightener Good Idea For Guys?
i think you should try it, and see if it looks good. A lot of girls dont like it when guys straighten theyre hair obviously because its like they spend too much time on themselves.

But if it looks good, it looks good so they wont care
I dont see anything wrong with men straightening their hair, or why dont u have ur hairdresser thin the sides of ur hair with thinning scissors
Take it from a girl, just don't put it TOO close to your head. I don't think straightening it would make all the difference but you could try. Get a GHI or Chi straightened. But just so you know straightening your hair sometimes gives off he impression that you're gay... Just saying. At least to me it does.
I've had guys straighten their hair. You just have to get a good flat iron because some of them will destroy your hair. Mine doesn't burn me.
dont straighten it, i hate it when guys do that.
I straighten my hair everyday. It doesn't hurt. Try it and see if it works.
no its not bad and it wont hurt your head unless you press it to your head or if you hold it to close to your head for a long time. but no i dont see a problem with you straightning your hair just turn the straightner on a lower heat since you only have to straighting your bangs=)
Hmmm.. i don't think u should straighten it, just blowdry it out. Its much easier, and will look more natural. Just use a round brush and blow dry ur hair in sections.

  • My 1'; hair straightener won't heat up anymore, any suggestions?

this morning i plugged it in and turned it on and it wouldnt heat up, the lights still turned on but no heat. it is a conair ceramic straightener. i use it in a 220 outlet because i live in europe. it is a 110/220 compatible. any suggestions on how to make it work again, before i go buy a new one? My 1'; hair straightener won't heat up anymore, any suggestions?
Let your freak flag fly!My 1'; hair straightener won't heat up anymore, any suggestions?
i had a conair red one. And just this week it broke. It did the same exact thing. I bought a new one. and threw the old one out.

i don't no what to tell you sorry. Yeah you should just buy a new one. well good luck!

Can a hair straightener burn down your house?

ok so sometimes i forget to turn the straightener off in the morning and my dad comes home around one-ish and he yells at me cause he thinks that it will burn the house down, and i dont think it will, can it?Can a hair straightener burn down your house?
    Not without some help.

I suppose it would depend on the following:

    1) How well it is made (can it withstand long periods of time being on without malfunctioning)

    2) How hot it gets.

    3) What kind of surroundings is it in when it is left on.

I would always unplug it to be on the safe side. Can a hair straightener burn down your house?
No but it can give you a real bad burn on your head...it is a chemical..Any product that changes the properties of your hair are chemicals...they break down the bonds %26amp; then close them back up...like with a perm the solution breaks down the hair bonds %26amp; the newtralizer puts them back together...same thing with a strightner except the strightner is much stronger...

my bad you are talking about a strightner that you plug in...Ya one of those can burn down your house for sure...
Just be good and obedient, don't wait til you burn your house. Nothing wrong with just being careful..
It could come in contact with something flammable...or it could short out. Yes, your dad is right, it could burn the house down.
yes and no. if your hair straightner shorted out and that the sparks happened to catch something flammable on fire, then it might spread through the whole house. but if your hair straightner is on and it's not really by anythign, then no. i always keep my hair straightner on even by paper or other things and nothing, not even a spark, has been caused by it. but if your dad doesnt want you to keep it on, how hard is it to unplug it and/or turn it off? it takes half a second. seriously.
    yes
If you ever think something CAN'T start a fire, try licking it. If it burns your tongue, turn it off...

    Then look in the mirror and say, five times, ';Dumbass...';
i think it can, i mean, if it gets hot enough and is touching something flamable, bye-bye house.
yes it can....listen to your dad

    a dad
it could. but it all depends on how hot it gets. if there are anything around it that could cautch fire. could the plug over heat.....ect.
    yup
It probably can depending on where you leave it. It can spark something that will lead to igniting a fire. Just be careful. :)
its possible. but not likely. it has happened though. If its in too long it can spark, and if its near something like a shirt it will catch that on fire, and if the shirt is near some towels they catch fire etc. until your house is, well, GONE! i left a hair dryeer plugged in too long and it sparked and caught a shirt on fire but luckily i was there to safely get rid of the fire before anything serious happened. i no dads get annoying but hes right. so just try to remember next time. k hope that helps! :]

Hiya can any1 tell me the right hair STRAIGHTENER , and shampoo or conditioner for afro hair. ?

ive use so many nufing seems to work.Hiya can any1 tell me the right hair STRAIGHTENER , and shampoo or conditioner for afro hair. ?
The ultimate hair straightener for all kinds of hair is GHDs- it achieves perfect results both on my (Caucasian) hair and my friend who has an out of control afro on a good day when she doesn't straighten it.Hiya can any1 tell me the right hair STRAIGHTENER , and shampoo or conditioner for afro hair. ?
any shampoo or conditioners will work.

but try and use ones from the brands, pink, dark and lovely or beautiful beginnings.

most straighnteners should work but i use wahl equipment ( from the powerpik to the straighteners )

wahl is especially made for afro-caribbean hair.

try and use the wide plated ceramic coated straighteners.
hiya i am studying hair at college and we do condition treatments the best shampoo and conditioner weve come across is from sally services you should have one maybe around you there are lots of them around but sometimes quite hard to find see where there is one round you or order online http://www.sallybeauty.com/ the shampoo and condition is in a yellow tub with a purple lid and is called Motion CPR they do deep conditioners as well which are brillant i really recommended it if you cant find a sallys try a market place where they have a hair stool and im sure theyl sell it!
I am not sure with the straightener-part but there is a shampoo and conditioner called sunsilk they have shampoo's and conditioners for all kind's of hair problems they even have leave in conditoner and mousse they have all kind's of products so yes I hope this helps !!!! bye
Don't know much about this subject but I gather from talking to others that GHD Mk 4's are the best straighteners on the market! Hope this helps!

Has anybody tried the in-styler rotating hair straightener? it has an offer for two in one.?

this styler seems new on the market has anybody tried it? it seems amazing.Has anybody tried the in-styler rotating hair straightener? it has an offer for two in one.?
i just used it for the first time, easily the best straightener ive ever used. the rotating part is amazing i can curl my hair and flip it it was so cool. i have this crazy curly part in the back of my hair that even my hairdresser spends 20 mins straightening and i did my whole head in fifteen mins. the only downside is that its alot easyer to burn yourself with it especially because of the rotation.

I need help buying hair straightener?

    CHI or nothing.
Conair 2 in 1 Flat iron and curling iron. They start at about $12 at Target. I use mine everyday!
Remington t studio brown and pink 2 1/4 in: you bcan buy it at ulta, target, linen n things 30-40

Sally beauty supply has some good ones. i got a jilbere titanium tools one. 50-60 bucks

Which is the best hair straightener as if now?how much it costs?

i have this panasonic with iron plates...i didnt knw much when i bought this one...but they dont give me straight hair...it just tames frizz for say just an hour thts it..oh ya by the way i have frizzy wavy hair... suggest me a good straightner which isnt pricey...does anyone knw hw remmington is?Which is the best hair straightener as if now?how much it costs?
I use a chi straightener, and they cost about $150 but honestly, they are well worth it. With straighteners I believe you get what you pay for. If you go too cheap, it won't do a great job most of the time. A chi is a very good investment if you straighten your hair on a daily basis, which I do.

hope this helps!Which is the best hair straightener as if now?how much it costs?
the best you can buy is a CHI, which range from $150 and up.

if you want a straightener that works well with minimum heat damage, the least you will be spending is $100. Make sure it is ceramic. Remington is not great, depending which one you buy, but the only way to guarantee a good working one is to buy it at a salon. Any straightener you buy for less than 80 is most likely not worth it.
FHI is better than chi. It straightens better, and doesnt damage your hair as much, i own one and ive had a chi one too. FHI plates are a lot better for the hair cuticle and make your hair healthy, too. They can get pricey, but almost the same as a chi straightener, and are available through ULTA. :]
ehh well if you want a good one your going to have to spend some money on it. i suggest a CHI they are the best!

    http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d2457.html
chi is the best for like 150$-200$ but conair makes some good ones for like 30$ ive been looking too.

  • Brown stuff on my hair straightener?

how do i get it off?Brown stuff on my hair straightener?
heat up,, use some cream on a rag,, or towel,, wipe them off. goback with wet rag to wipe off any residue.don't use any metal to scrape them off,, you might hurt the platesBrown stuff on my hair straightener?
Take rubbing alcohol put a little on a wash-cloth. Rub the plates of the straightener with the cloth. This will do it. It works for me!
Just get a tissue and scrape it.
heat the straightner up then when it get's reaally hot,........lick it with your tongue. hehe
Turn the straightener on let it get hot. use an old washcloth that you don't want anymore, wet it , wring it out and then unplug the straightener, hold the wet washcloth on it, it will take a Lil scrubbing with the rag, but the stuff will come off. if you want to use chemicals to do it faster, use Windex, but make sure it's cool if you do that.
It is just products, and build up gunk. All you have to do is spray some 70% alcohol on a rag, and wipe it down really well, it will make it shine!
its probobly the hair that burnt off ? try and pick it off
that's either rust and you can't get it off, or it's just some of your hair grease that got burned just scrape it off.
Let it cool down and wipe it off with a wet cloth.
just get a tissue or maybe a paper towel would work better...it's just buildup and dirt and oils from ur hair...but n e way use the paper towel to wipe it off..usually works better if the straightener is still hot or at least warm
Make sure the hair straightener is off, and cold. Wet a cotton ball with some alcohol, that should do it. The brown stuff is burnt hair and burnt products that you might put on your hair before you straighten it. Just FYI
    mmmm! Burnt hair. YUM
ethel alcohol then rinse with water
umm if it might be hair products and if I'm right you should be able to scratch it off with your finger nail when it isn't turned on
    It's just hair product.

Wipe it with rubbing alcohol or just plain water
    just wipe it off....

Is there a better hair straightener then CHI.?

I have a CHI and for it to ';not'; burn your hair, my hair is pretty much ruined.

I use the heat spray before hand and i put the silk fusion stuff on after wards and yet my hair is fried.

i personally cannot stand to look at it any longer and i'm not sure what to do.Is there a better hair straightener then CHI.?
First, give your hir some time to mend. Use a treatment or a deep conditioner first.

Aussie Deeep 3 minute miracle deep conditioner is by far the best deep conditioner ever!!! It works like a mask that you can use in or out of the shower. You just use it for three minutes and comb it through, rinse with warm water, and then some cool water.

Its great!!! You can use it 1-3 times a week, its CHEAP (about $3 at wal-mart), leaves your hair, color, and texture looking and feeling radiant.

Just make sure you rinse it all out. I haven't had to cut my hair in 6 months since I've used it.

I use a Conair which is about $20 and leaves my hair in better conditions than my CHI did. I only used a heat protectant spray and it works great. Holds all day.

A GHD is pretty good too.

Better than CHI in my opinion, just a little pricier. Is there a better hair straightener then CHI.?
I used CHI and um... I'd say it is not the best I've ever used... I'd use conair or GHD. I have a cousin that uses GHD and says its really good! The one I use is Conair, it doesn't burn, and it comes out pretty shiny, it stays straight for the entire day, and its not that pricey:)
I would recommend simply not straightening your hair for a while. I know it's hard but it will repair your hair.

Possibly try getting a haircut to snip off dried split ends

I recently ordered a solia from folica.com which has great hair products and awesome reviews.

thanks =]What's the best hair straightener you've ever used?
GHD and CHI . They're similar except the GHD has a universal outlet ;DWhat's the best hair straightener you've ever used?
    110 volts.

Helpful hint # 473: Never ever, never try to plug anything into an outlet behind your bed. My finger slipped between the prongs, as I got it into the outlet. Since I was stretched out across the bed, I was kind of stuck there, just flopping around and screaming until I finally dislodged the plug.
    chi zebra stipes straightener :)
I don't use a straightener really. Just conditioner, and a drying brush and I can make my hair curly or straight depending on what direction I brush it in. It's easy.

What's a good hair straightener for under $40?

I need a very good straightener for under $40.

(Yeah, I know, kind of cheap.)

But I don't have much money to spend on a Chi or whatever. What's a good hair straightener for under $40?
I have a ceramic revlon.. it's black and purple-- i dunno what model but it kicks bootay, it was like $35 @ Macy's on clearance. And don't feel cheap, I would never spend more than $40 on a straightener. What's a good hair straightener for under $40?
I wouldnt recomment conair. I have it and it makes your hair look and feel like macaroni. no seriosuly, like noodles. but dry noodles. hehe. Maybe a revlon should do the trick. Oh yea! I heard one of the best hair straighteners for cheap is the remington wet2straight. I asked about the same question a long time ago and everyone said the remington wet 2 straight. I want to get it and try it out. you should too!
I like my remington wet2straight very much. It's about $25. My hair is already fairly straight, though. I use it to smooth the little bit of wave I have.
Con- air ceramic plates. It's cheap and it gets pretty hot.
    Remington Wet to straight
Revlon makes a white one that is pretty good. You can get it at walmart. I upgraded to a chi...yes expensive, but really worth it.

I have thick hair, so the Revlon got hot enough to actullay straighten it.
go to like a wal mart or something and get a wet to straight straightener. it works soo well. before when i wouls straighten my hair it would still be poofy but now its longer, sleeker, and staraighter. and it only cost 20 bucks.
con-air ceramic plated. get it for $15 at cvs. i've had mine for 3 years and it still works wonderfully
you can find good ones on ebay get a ceramic one this works the best

I often use a hair straightener. Is it going to do any damage to my hair???

i use hair straighteners to but to use them everyday isnt good for your hair ....try and use a dry end serum sold in lots of shops...by the hair stuff .....and use a heat protector as well because straighteners can get very hot ....i only use ghd's but id say there all the same reallyI often use a hair straightener. Is it going to do any damage to my hair???
if you use it too much it can. make sure that you use a heat protection cream b4 u use it.I often use a hair straightener. Is it going to do any damage to my hair???
    yes
yes but you can prevent damage with this.

I just went to their launch party and had my hair done, free as a demo. Its amazing, my hair was breaking off and flying away. I will always always buy this stuff. Its awesome, I saw a difference as soon as she rinsed my hair. I have no damage anymore, its unbelievable! No more split-ends, its like my hair is NEW! I love it!

Make sure you watch their video on the site,

its amazing. Lady changes her hair color 3 times in 30 minutes with NO DAMAGE

    Instant Hair Repair for REAL
It can if you don't take care of your hair. Your ends are going to become dry and start splitting if you don't use conditioners. Don't use your iron more that once a day and don't wash your hair more than four times a week. There are other products that you can use to minimize damage to your hair but I would only buy them at a salon or beauty supply store. Those products are often better quality than the ones you find in a grocery store. Good luck, have a great day.
if you straighten your hair too much, it will become like stick strait...i had a friend who did that. use a straightening serum...
yes!i spoilt my hair when i used a straightener......i didnt even use it very often....even then it made my hair rough....i dont use it anymore
Of course it will. It drys your hair, gives you split ends, and even lightens your hair color if you recently had it dyed.
Yes i am afraid so although a lot depends on your hair type/condition to start with. I bought ghd and used hair protection cream but still notice that my hair goes all dry and frizzy - especially on the layers. I only use them occassionally now.
yes it does cause i often straight my hair too it causes dead hair but just get straightener oil or lotion before you straight your hair it help too
It will unless you use some form of heat protection, like a cream or spray. Otherwise your hair may dry out and/or weaken.
i always thought dat an den i askd ma hair dresser. she says dat if u dnt straighten ur hair frum da roots an use hair products ur hair shud b fine!! hope dis helps ya a bit!! =)
    yup
yes ofcourse. it will stop hairs from proper growth, makes weaker. some give heat in wet conditions which cause salination on hairs result hairfall
It will dry out your hair unless you use a straightening conditioner before straightening it.
only if you do it multiple times between showering.
It won't as long as you use protective products %26amp;%26amp; make sure you dont use it every day. put it on the lowest setting %26amp;%26amp; try to not wash your hair after you straighten so you can have straight hair for about 2 days.....

that was confusing but you should get my drift...
Yes But If You use hair Treatments Then Your Hair Should Be Fine. But Don't Straignen your Hair When Not Necessary

The best straightener to buy for anyone, anywhere is GHD.

This may be a little out of your price range though :) Failing that, ask your local hairdresser because where you are is a big factor in what brands you have access to buying!

I have used a really crappy one for the past 4 years, and it still works like a charm... I don't know if you can really go wrong with straighteners, it's just some are better for your hair than others.
omg CHI along with other CHI hairstraightening productz is amazinngg!!!
    i use CONAIR

well i have the remington wet to straight iron. for me it works REALLY well. I was surprised, i have thick wavy hair and it leaves my hair pin straight. I got it @ target for around $28
ghd is well worth it a bit expensive though so start saving now you wont regret it
If you want to look after your hair then i would recommend th GHD there is no other straightener that will keep your hair in fantastic condition if used properly i have an Afro and it gets my hair more than pin straight save up it is so worth it for the price you will never have to get a new one and should anything go wrong then you will get the best service

Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?

After hearing rave reviews, I purchased a Chi Ceramic Hair styling iron (by Farouk) from JC Penny. I tried it over my previously straightened hair using the Chi spray and it fried my hair! I am taking it back.

Written on the top plate is ';Global Beauty Network'; with a red round ';CHI'; label at the hinge. Is this a real Chi?

I was told to test it on a cotton square. It got very hot when it was supposed to remain just warm.

    Is this a real CHI?

If not, can anyone recommend one that leaves the hair shiny and straight but doesn't burn?Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?
Well, real CHI's do not have a temperature knob, and they do have the GBN and red round CHI label at the hinge.

Do you have thick frizzy hair or fine thin hair? CHI's work wonders with thick frizzy hair and average hair. If it burns your hair, then maybe you did something wrong. I have never used my CHI on previously straightened hair, and that might be the case.

I suggest you give it another try. If the results don't please you, then by all means, take it back. Ask you're hairdresser (if you go to the same person to get your hair cut over and over again) what kind of flat iron would work best with your hair.

Best of luck!Chi Hair Straightener by any other Name?
I did NOT choose this answer as best. It is not best at all! There were other answers that actually answered the question without insulting the asker.

I want to thank those others who responded for their kind and informative responses.

I don't know if yours is a real CHI but I have tried and love the Vidal Sassoon ceramic tools (especially the flat iron).
I have never had a problem with my Chi. Did you get a knock-off, by chance?
I can back the product up since i got my strightener in Europe, its called bellissima. But if it fried your hair the problem might not be with the straightener it might be with the temperature you put it on. Like my straightener straightens good and it only goes up to 200 degrees. Maybe yours was like 300, which does fry hair. Good luck.

    Which hair straightener to buy?

its hard for me to shop for hair stuff because my hair is really thick, and extremely curly, like really tight curls. Just natually. What makes it even harder is that my hair is also really delicate in its own way.

(tried relaxing it once and that took off several inches, and straightening seems to hinder growth and just gives me split ends so i'm cutting back)

Looking for a straightener that dishes out really good results without all the nasty hair damage. Any ideas?Which hair straightener to buy?
Trust me on this one, get the Sedu! It's truly amazing and the results last.Which hair straightener to buy?
i feel you my hair sounds exactly the same...i relaxed it 2 yrs ago and now i have to blow dry it straight and iron it every 3 days...i go nuts it kills my arms hahaha to have to hold the blowdryer anyway I've gone curly now thanks to this website motowngirl.com made me love my curls...i use to use remmington salon smooth (model number s6001) it had 3 times protection and isnt too expensive otherwise try babybliss range though that is costly...i do notice however straightening will eventually make your hair thinner...
i also have tight curly hair and currently am using the CHI iron. i got mine on Ebay for alot less than retail and it really does the job quite well. i also use serum on my hair to get the shiny look for when i straighten it. good luck and happy hair to you!
Don't put anything on it. Seriously, the longer your hair gets the more weight it will take on and the more stretched to curl will be. Perms and relaxers anything that will cause your hair to break off is a no no. Try braids to tale the hair for a while till it grows out. And a product w/o alcohol is your best friend. Try a good conditioner too. Treat your hair well and it will look good.
No doubt - CHi or GHD

How do u like the CRICKET hair straightener?

is the Tourmaline StraightCrazy iron by CRICKET a good hair iron?? i know it is both tourmaline and ceramic, has infrared heat, tourmaline crystals, and negative ions which makes it sound like a good hair straightener and it also comes in a good price!! I was also wondering if this hair iron has heat settings or adjustment. Please help me..I want to buy it, however i dont want to waste my precious valuable money!!How do u like the CRICKET hair straightener?
I would go with the wisdom of the masses, ie check out user reviews where many people have contributed their opinion/vote.

For instance, http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh鈥?/a> and http://www.hairstraightening.net/How do u like the CRICKET hair straightener?
I have never heard of that brand/hair iron.

But it doesn't sound good. I suggest you buy a GHD best hair iron in the world. You can straighten and curl and after you finish you get a celeb result. i have one and my mum uses it and hair is very afroy and thick. When she uses it her hair is like amazing trust me.

    Get A GHD :)
    I like GHDs the best

Answer mine?... it won't let me post the link to it on here, but if you click on my picture you'll be able to find it

I have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?

i thought they were ceramic but the instructions say ceramic coated is that ok?

i dont want my hair damaged will it last.??

I have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?
its fine it wont do any damage but the coating can come off so you might wanna get a real ceramic flatironI have a Chi flat iron hair straightener?
chi is one of the best irons especially for the price you paid for it. Don't forget to use a straightening balm for your hair that is made for heat glide tools. Don't use the one made by chi it tends to make the hair greasy feeling. Althought the one made by Redken smooth down heat glide is one of the best. Good luck I hope this helps.
From the reviews it looks like a good straightener. If your hair is thin..it may not work out as well. Just try straightening in larger pieces. (It's only one heat so if you have thin pieces it could burn and damage your hair) If its thick your probably fine.

  • Where can I buy a Global Beauty Network Inc. hair straightener in Canada?

I live in Ontario, CanadaWhere can I buy a Global Beauty Network Inc. hair straightener in Canada?
Global Beauty Network is also known as Farouk. The company is most known for their CHI flat irons which is what I own. You can score a great deal on ebay just search CHI iron. I purchased mine on ebay and saved over $60 off retail. Otherwise most beauty shops that have retail items for sale will carry them. I would look in your phone book and call ahead. They really do make the best irons and I love mine! Best of luck!

Is it worth buying a GHD Hair Straightener?

I am currently using a Remington which suits be fine, but a friend recommended a GHD and said you'd never look back. Is it really that different - and more importantly is it worth the price (拢76-拢85 online). Is it worth buying a GHD Hair Straightener?
no i dont think it is for the amount of money. there are some other really great brands you can buy that are alot cheaper and work just aswell. i have some vidal sassoon ones are there brilliant my friend has GHD's and they seem to both work the same. so i dont think there is any point. Is it worth buying a GHD Hair Straightener?
    NO!

I use Remington Sleak and Curl they were voted better than GHD's mainly because they are as good as GHDs but half the price.
yeah its good in that you can curl your hair with it as well as straighten.. but its not THAT much better than everything else.. i wouldnt bother if u just wanna straighten ur hair
I didn't spend that much money on a hair straightener, but I did by one at the mall that starts with a C that someone mentioned in your earlier comments. I paid I think $95.00 with tax and all. But its a ceramic hair straightener. It really does work. I never had such straight hair and mine is puffy and long. It takes about 15min. Seriously it takes that long. So, I don't know it $190.00 is worth it or not. I can't say. I think that's a little pricey for me.
you should try a corioliss flat iron, its a little expensive but definitely worth it, it used to take me 3 hours to do my hair, now it only takes 45min, I have 2 of them one to straighten and one to curl, you can get it online
i use them, they're great but i haven't had anything to compare it to. On the other hand a lot of them can be faulty, a few friends have had to send them back, and i saw a watchdog programme on them which said they can be dangerous and ignite, even if switched off. Always unplug after use to be safe, and keep the receipt and guarantee.

Is it possible to make a hair straightener?

is it possible to create a hair straightener? i dont have money to buy one, and from what everyone tells me, i look ';freaking sexy'; with my hair straight.....is it possible??

please help!!Is it possible to make a hair straightener?
Um I'm not sure about ';creating a hair straightener'; but before I had straighteners I used a straightening brush:

    http://www.boots.com/en/Toni-Guy-Straigh鈥?/a>

when I blow-dried it. Or you can iron it if it's long enough but that is REALLY bad for your hair.

xxIs it possible to make a hair straightener?
If you dont have a straightener, then you could try to blow dry it flat. Get a flat large brush and put the hair dryer on the lowest setting. While brushing your hair down from roots to end, the blow dryer will be pressed on the hair and move down slowly together. It wont be as flat as the straightener but its darn close

What kind of hair straightener do you use?

I use a conair, in case you were wondering =)What kind of hair straightener do you use?
i used to use a conair, but i kept burning my hair, so i switched to an ion. people say chis work better, but the ion does the trick for my wavy-curly hair.

    ions are like $90.

anyways, if you want to make your hair really straight, take a shower the night before and blowdry it. doesnt matter how.

sleep on it and straighten it in the morning. it works, trust me.What kind of hair straightener do you use?
Chi its like 150 dollors but it wont hurt your hair as bad...its worth the money i wouldnt u anything beside a chi on my hair
My straightenr is a crappy conair. But i msaving up my money for a sedu! Only $100 more to go!

  • I need a hair straightener that wont badly damage my hair?

not really expensive thoo, but i dont want 2 ruin my hairI need a hair straightener that wont badly damage my hair?
From experience I'd say CHI hair straighteners are the best, I went on their website and there are quite a few in the the $60 - $80 range which is pretty good since the last hair straightener I got was over $200. I promise you they are well worth the money and won't badly damage your hair.

Good Luck!I need a hair straightener that wont badly damage my hair?
hmmm any kind of heat isnt good for your hair, but get a straightener where you can adjust the heat, so you can turn it down so it wont totally fry your hair. Make sure its ceramic and not those ';wet to dry'; ones. They also sell heat protection serums and stuff, they should sell them everywhere. supermarkets, pharmacies etc.
sadly, every type of hair straightener is going to damage your hair in some way. but to reduce the amount of damage buy something with ceramic plates they distribute the heat move evenly then metal plates and prevent ';hot spots'; which could burn your hair.
I use the Whal Healthy Infusions Ionic Hair Straightener.

It works amazing with my hair, and I've been using it since December.

    It's only about 30 dollars at Wal-Mart.

It comes with a detachable comb for you hair, instead of combing your hair. It also has these strips on the side that are supposed to condition your hair (it makes mine shiny and pretty).

It heats up pretty fast, and works great.

Go on the site I gave you and it'll give you the run down.

I absolutely love it, and I think you will too.

all hair straighteners are generally bad for your hairr

most likely a ceramic one would be good. but if you dont want to damage your hair too too badly you can put this heat cream in your hair and it protects it from the heat
U can get a CHI for liek $45 new from overstock.com or ebay.com. They r really good. just make sure it says new because you dont want 2get ripped off.

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big

Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Remington, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

    Buying a new hair straightener?

I am buying a new hair straightener and am going for a chi or something comparable thats a little more pricey...I have looked around on google and have found ones that are much cheaper than in the store but hiw do I know that its the real thing?Buying a new hair straightener?
yeah i wouldn't risk it a lot of those are used for a while and then repackaged type stuff

you don't know how the previous owner treated it

also if they cheap out of the packaging and shipping the bumpy roads and throwing around the packages damage the heating elements

i would fork out the cash and buy a real chi in a store like beauty brands

i own a chi and i have had it for 5 years it still works just as amazing as the day i bought it

you have to take really good care of it though

do not wind the cord around the straightener

pack it with your clothes in your suitcase to give it a cushion when you travel

unplug it when its not in use so minor and major power surges at your house won't affect it

chi's rock, don't damage hair as much (still use a heat protectant though, i suggest the one by Tresemmee [sp?]), are very durable and are well worth the cost in the long run but just like anything else they will break and the quality will deteriorate if you abuse itBuying a new hair straightener?
i just bought a chi and its pretty much AMAZING...i kept getting cheaper ones to see if i could find one that worked good and wasnt that much and they allll sucked....so i finally just got it and its totally worth the price and its lasts a long time.
If I were you, I would get your straightener from a beauty supply store. GHD and CHI are good, but they are intended for professional use. You are paying extra money for the name, and they get really hot, really fast. Try Sally Beauty supply. The girls there can give you the best recommendation for personal needs. Either way, if you are still stuck on CHI or GHD, you can still get it from there and know it is genuine.
truthfully i've been thru the top three straighteners.. and the one i have now is the best.. paul brown hawaii.. it works so good!!

i've had a chi and i curled my hair with it and after about a month the wires inside the cord snapped because of how the cord wouldn't swivel properly.

corioliss is also pretty good and you can get it and the chi for about 60 bucks on ebay.. the only reason i got rid of it was because i got the chi for xmas so i sold mine on ebay..

paul browns if bought from a store vary from 150 to 200.. they make you're hair shinier, smoother, you name it! all my friends say they love my straightner
Friend You must buy CHI hair straightener.

CHI hair straightener is the best.

    3) CHI can take care your hair

Please and thank you!!!!What is the best hair straightener?
    SEDU

    its great

chi has a history of breakin very easily...sedus dont...its rated #1What is the best hair straightener?
Basically, you need to look not at just brand names, but at the heat settings in your straightener. You probably need a salon heat type straightner of around 220-230 degrees, like I do (it does make the hair undeniably smooth and straight).

Might I point out the girl in that picture has some undeniable hair dryness and split ends at the bottom of her hair. There's always risks at using a straightener at some high heat settings. When you start using straighteners with that kind of heat, you need to start getting your hair trimmed very regularly to make sure the ends are cut before they have a chance to split and frizz.

Try a Babylis Salon heat straightener. People seem to like GHD but my Babylis is just as good and at 1/3 of the price.
It's extremely pricey. My cousin just bought one and it is absolutely the most amazing straightener ever!! I have really thick hair, and mine ends up like the picture you have above of Demi Lovato by just running the straightener over my hair once.

    Really, really good investment.
I used to have a cheap conair straightener that wasn't too bad and now I have a chi. Honestly, I don't even notice that much of a difference, but my hair is mostly naturally straight. It may work better for you. Try totalbeauty.com, they have reviews for all kinds of beauty products, including hair tools!!
I use the GVP (generic version product) of the CHI I got at Sally Beauty supply for $59.99. Goes up to 440 degrees I think. I only use it at 350 tho and get the results i want.

Also try Aquelle aqualust lusterizer creme($4.79) at Sally's. You will have hair so straight and shiny you look Asian using nothing else but a dab the size of a pea..
the best i have found is the T3 iron. you can go straight or get those pretty loose curls you see but dont know how to get.

T3 uses tourmaline in all of their products.. that helps heat your hair from the inside out so it will never burn or damage it.

you can find it at nordstrom.. its worth the price.
    BED HEAD!

i have a pink one and it works great!

i have this heat activeated gel and it works better with wet ahir and i use a straightener but is it ok to use on wet hairIs it safe to use my conair hair straightener on wet/damp hair?
it would likely be best to towel-dry your hair until it is almost dry before using the ironsIs it safe to use my conair hair straightener on wet/damp hair?
Your hair is going to dry out insanely

Heat itself damages hair after continuous use, but when you use direct heat (such as a straightner or curling iron) over when hair it is going to burn and damage the folicles.

I wouldn't suggest using your flat iron over when hair unless it was meant for that since they make wet to dry irons but even then I would be wary of it
Um well i think it is easier to use and works better when your hair is dry not wet. But whatever works for you should work i dont think it really matters if your hair is dry or wet but it will work better on dry hair =).
If it doesn't say it's MADE for wet hair then dry it before you straighten! Straightening damp hair is horrible for the strands and you can burn it to a crisp! You'll regret it later on. Just, dry it first.
Bad idea. It'll fry your hair. You can get a straightener ment for wet hair though. I know that Remington makes one called Wet 2 Straight. Otherwise wait till it is completely dry.
not usually, if you straighten your hair when its wet, it drys it out too much and makes your hair very frizzy and gives you horrible split ends so i would recommend not having wet hair
yeah you can but your hair will fry and get really frizzy...it may fall off too that happened to my friend...i definitely wouldnt suggest it...but my other friend found a straitner that works on wet hair...
even if a straightener says something like ';wet to straight'; only use it on dry hair because it will damage your hair if you use it on wet hair
I wouldn't recommend wet hair it can burn your hair however on damp hair it takes longer to dry...
No it should be completely dry. You hair will get more damaged if you do it wet. I would make sure its 100% dry.
Yes, but that brand isn't the best for it. The Remington Wet to Straight one works best.
    be

    very very carefull!
yes it is safe to use a straitener on wet hair

it just takes longer to straiten it
I wouldnt think so. Your pretty much frying your hair even more. I wouldnt do it.
dont do it! my friend used one and she had to cut her hair because it had been fried so badly. so i recommend making sure your hair is 100% dry before straightning
Be careful, my girlfriend got burn't hair on the while.
id suggest not to do that cuz it burns your hair twice as much..just wait for your hair to dry off..
it frys ur air even more than it already does! i wouldnt do that if i were u!
uhh.. it can be very damaging to your hair. use a blowdrier.
ummm no you should wait until your hair is dry to straighten it

Im looking for a really good hair straightener, like a salon brand...money doesn't matter thanksWhat is a really good kinda of hair straightener?
well the straightener i use is wet to straight... which is pretty good if you are on a wallmart budget i paid like 24bucks for it but if you want top of the line and you dont care about money... About this time of year there are booths in the mall that sell a type of straightner the whole iron is like pure titanium and its awesome it wont burn your hair and it gets super hot I had a trial of it and it worked awesome i just couldnt afford it because it was like 150bucks soo yeah that was an extremely good hair straightener and it comes in lots of fun colors and several different sizes like even for baby hairs... im planning to get me and my mommy one for chrismas because it is buy a sertain one and get the baby one free... hope this helped(sorry i dont know the name of it)What is a really good kinda of hair straightener?
Well first of all (NEVER GET THE CHI!) It does not work worth a crap i have one and in 2 months IT BROKE! So i bought another one and it broke in 1 1/2 weeks. So i got the sedu, and it works wonders!!! Trust me hun, people say the chi is awesome...its not! its about 200 bucks for a peice of crud, the sedu is so much more worth it, i have had mine for 4 years and it still works like its brand new, and i have thick/frizzy/very very very curly hair. Go on folica.com and u can ge a discount on it....just type in sedu

    I really hope this helps!!
I have a Hot styler digital titanium straightener from 2 years ago and it works like the day i bought it, and it was 250$. i totally recommend having a digital straightener because its so much easier to know when it heats up, and its much faster too.
I got my hair straightener at Sally's and it's a generic brand of the CHi- it cost about $80, but it's well worth it, and just as good.
I have a chi and they work great but they can be a little expensive like around 100-200 bucks.

    But they work great
i think bedhead is the best out there but its also like one of the most expensive sry. well good luck!
    CHI definitely!

They're pretty expensive but they're worth it, AND they come in cute designs. :]

Remmington wet to dry hair straightener?

reliable or not worth the money? easy points. speak from experience, if not what is a good brand? prics range not over $25Remmington wet to dry hair straightener?
I have one and it works very good%26lt;wet or dry%26gt;, but i got a new tigi rock star one that works 100 times better and is only 65$ (my cousin goes to paul mitchel beauty school and says it works better than hers.

    so pretty good straightner)

i found it at target...Remmington wet to dry hair straightener?
I didn't like it. I always use a straightener with a built in comb, and the Remmington ones don't have one. My hair is especially hard to get straight when it's wet, not blowdried. So it didn't work too well for me.

I have a Conair. It works pretty well.
i just got a remington straightener for 40 dollars but its not the wet to dry one and it works really good on my hair =] makes it really straight and soft
i have them and they still burn my hair just as much as regular straightners when my hair is damp. but if you jst use them as straighteners when your hair is dry they are pretty good. x
It's okay for $25... it straightens pretty well. But I'd recommend something a little bit more pricey. You won't regret it.
I have one and it is great. Well worth the money.
i have one and it makes my hair feel so dry it just ruins my day because it irritates me.

What is the best hair straightener?

    1. Product

    2. Type of chemical treatment

    3. Type of flat ironWhat is the best hair straightener?
    1. Chi

    2. Not sure (?)

    3. CeramicWhat is the best hair straightener?
    1. Any product should work, although I've heard the Chi heat protecting products are really good.

    2. I've used motions before to relax my hair. I would recommend Japanese hair straightening, though, but it's expensive.

    3. I'd say Sedu. I just got mine today and I'm really happy and love how it straightens my hair :) I've posted a video on youtube with a review if you want to check it out, I'll post another one tonight but this one is just my initial reaction to it.

    Hope I helped!!

Is there a small hair straightener just for bangs? I don't need a big one since my hair is short.?

yes there are loads of different brands of short hair straightners...

xoIs there a small hair straightener just for bangs? I don't need a big one since my hair is short.?
well ive seen lots of men's Straighteners specific for short hair that would work well on bangs, but that's here in the uk and since you called them bangs (fringe in the uk) im guessing that's not where you are, but im sure salons must stock them. Is there a small hair straightener just for bangs? I don't need a big one since my hair is short.?
well it's not especially made for bangs but there are small straighteners out there i have a really small one but you can get small ones anywhere i live missouri so you can find one i am sure lol!!! just go to walmart thats where i got mine hope i helped bye!!!!
i have this one and it work great

What's a Good Hair Straightener for wavy thick hair?

I have wavy and thick hair. I have a remington with curve blades and I had for a 1 and a half. I'm getting a new one. I want one $20-40. I'm considering Conair 2'; Pro Ceramic Straightener or Conair 1-5/8'; Ceramic Straightener or Remington Wet 2 Straight Flat Iron .What's a Good Hair Straightener for wavy thick hair?
for that price range hot tools is the way to go.

you should invest in getting japanese permanent hair straightening or Thermal Reconditioning . it lasts longer, that is if you want it straight for more than just a day. What's a Good Hair Straightener for wavy thick hair?
whatever you do, don't get the remington wet to straight!!! it fries your hair!!!
if you have wavy thick hair you might need to spend alot more money like 200 dollars. but it works really well and 4 a long long time too. its called a chi. my friend says it works really good and she loves it.
If you want a good straightener you should invest money on a really good one. I have the same problem because I have long thick wavy hair and I use a Paul Mitchell ceramic straightener and it works for me. :)
If you have wavy, thick hair. a $40 straigtner will do NOTHING. Get the Chi. If your mom wont spend over 50 do some chores and get allowence. maybe even get one off of ebay! I have a chi and it works great! Not one hair is ever out of place. You could always do go to a salon and see it. I dont know if you have this but a place called ULTA uses Chi's on everything. It is a great buy and can last for a long, long time.
get Hot Tools--my hair dresser told me to get that one cuz my hair is very very thick and wavy too...it works soo good!!! and it was only like about $20-$25--u should get it=]

if u want something not too expensive but works great, conair does good styling stuff
You should get a Chi. They work really good, but kind of expensive. About $150 dollars. You can find them at hair salons or online.
Bed Head light me up straighteners are great. I got mine at Target.
    Chi
    Chi. It worked for me.
    Chi.

Which type/brand/model hair straightener is the best?

I need one that's affordable, maybe like around $20-$30 that's pretty good quality and does the least damage to thin hair. Also could be found at most stores. (ect. superstore, zellers, london drugs, sears...)Which type/brand/model hair straightener is the best?
I love my remington wet2dry straightener. I don't actually use it on wet hair, only dry. It works way better than the conair and vidal sassoon ones that I have tried from the drug stores. I think it's cool too that it has this little LED display and heats up in 60 seconds. I got mine at Walmart for less than $30 I think, $40 max. Which type/brand/model hair straightener is the best?
Hey! I have the perfect one your looking for! I have it at home too, and its a Conair Flat Iron, I got it for 25$, at Zellers. Also, dont' forgot to buy the spray that you put in your hair BEFORE you straigten it, it will prevent a little damage to your hair, cuz using a straightener will do damage to your hair, PLUS, it moisterizes your hair, and leaves it looking shiny and natural! Since the 20-30$ ones are not as great as the 130-200$ ones, I HIGHLY reccomend getting it.

    Good luck! %26lt;3
well all cheaper straighteners are pretty bad but the one pair i have found really good are the remington wet2straight.it sizzles abit which isn't comforting but they straighten your hair really well.

i'm afraid though that the best straighteners i have found are GHD'S in england(where i live) they cost around 拢100-150. i dunno what that is in dollars or whatever. so if you want value and good for the money go for the wet2straights but if you want long lasting, durable and extra hot go for the expensive option GHD'S.
babyliss, remington or whall r good makes make sure they have ceramic plates as this protects the hair ,also make sure u use some protection a serum or spray that protects against straightening start an inch from the roots and rub it down 2 the ends then straighten dont do the roots as it can make it look greasy only use a small amount 2
    The Croc....

It's 200 dollars and it goes up to 430 degrees and keep my hair looking fabolous all of the time!

And it's a wet to straight hair striaghtener as well!

    it's amazing...

If you want to go cheaper get the HAI.... It's pretty good as well!
A Chi...this is salon grade...you can find them for a fraction of the retail price on e-bay...I just got one and its awesome! Any regular walmart kind never worked on my hair...the chi works and it only takes like 15 to 20 minutes...
    Bed Head Straightener?

    idk, it's around twentyfour dollars.

    At Target, Walmart, etc.

CHIs' and Paul Mitchell Straighteners work wonderfully. Both are commonly used in salons and in households. These work really good, but I'm not sure exactly where they are sold in India(I'm Indian BTW.) You can buy them online, and it's worth it! They don't cause the bad frizz when you straighten your hair. It will look sleek and beautiful. Doesn't out-burn your hair...It's wonderful.

    Buy a T3 Tourmaline.

They are not as expensive as the other brands, but work just as well or better. I just got my hair straightened by a professional today with a $250 straightener, and my hair looks exactly the same with my T3. Also, Tourmaline doesn't damage hair as much, and T3 was best pick by Allure Magazine.

    :)
Surprisingly enough, you want to use a nice thin straightener. With a thinner one, you can get closer to the roots of your hair and frizziness fades. I would go with Ion or Plugged. You can find these at Sally Beauty Supply which is probably the best place for anything that deals with hair or nails.

    Good Luck:)

Hope i helped(:Which hair STRAIGHTENER is the best?
I have the same type of hair as yours, my hair used to frizz when I used a straightner that basically wasn't hot enough.

I've been using a Coroillis straightner for the last couplfe of years, It diddn't look like it would last long but it suprised me. There is a heat adjustment button (you can alter the temperature of the plates) an on/off button and it automatically turns off within half an hour (this proves very useful to me as I sometimes forget to turn them off haha)

The one I have is a flatiron which is very easy to do bangs/fringe with. You can also get plastic plates that attatch on with different colours %26amp; styles, that clip on like a mobile phone cover :)

I sound like im marketing it, haha. But seriously its really good and mine was only 100 pounds xx

(Baring in mind to reduce frizz you'll need heat protection spray!)
best straightner our der is the ghd. I have frizzy hair in general, but with the ghd it makes my hair look straight!! the ghd has very high temperatures, that just makes the hair completely straight, unlike other straightners, which dont reach dat high of a temperature, so they only end up straighteinin bits of your hair and not others parts, hence makin ur hair look frizzy. It is a little bit pricey but well worth the money. the product is extremely durable and long lasting. i have had mine for 3 years now and its still going strong.
GHD's definately sound right for you. They are specially designed for wavy/afro hair as they go up to really high temperatures. These are the best money can buy. Go to http://www.ghdhair.com.

I have the ghd iv styler. It's the middle size i think, not too big, not too small; perfect for everyday use. I think you get heat protection products when you buy it, but if you don't you should buy some as the high temperatures could damage your hair. Hope it helped xx
I think a Sedu is best for you. I have really wavy, frizzy, thick hair, but I use a Sedu and it works amazingly! My hair will be all over the place, and 10 minutes with the Sedu, and my hair looks great! (: You can buy one on folica.com for about $115. Good luck!
i heard the chi works really good.

i bought a conair one and i have really thick and frizz hair but it works really good for me.

just make sure it have a ceramic plate and it gets really hot!

and when you straigtenyou pull down not to the side or out.
I have been using ghd for the past 3 years and it works just like it did when I first bought it. If you are going to buy ghd though, be sure to buy it directly from their website because there are a lot of fakes out there.
I find that HOT TOOLS carrys the best line of products. It gets very hot and works great on frizzy/curly hair. They are a bit more expensive, but worth it. I've had mine for 7 years and haven't had to replace it.

It is very pricey tho ($200) but you said price didn't matter...

If that's too much the chi is very similar and much cheaper.
try a chi iron or a fhi iron both work extremely well. since your hair is curly and tends to get frizzy use some of the paul micthell super skinny products also
Chi's are best by far because you can straighten in just 1 pass and curl an the bottom if you want, curl the whole thing or flip in/out.
I find that the nicky clark one is the best

    Recommended hair straightener?

I'm looking to buy a good quality ceramic hair straightener and I was wondering what you would recommend. My hair is just past my shoulders but it is super curly, thick and frizzy. I'm looking to spend $100-$115 Canadian. In addition to this, where would I be able to buy this straightener in Ontario.Recommended hair straightener?
Invest in a Sedu or a Solia. The reviews speak for themselves. I have the Sedu 1.5'; and it straightens my long, super curly %26amp; thick hair in record time without pulling or burning my hair.

    Sedu:

    Solia:

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_r1鈥?/a>

Chis really aren't for people with naturally curly hair. They work best on wavy and naturally straight hair. Plus, they're incredibly unreliable. Most break within the first 8-12 months of use. And if you're going to invest in a professional flat iron, you want it to last.

Also, Sedus are REMARKABLY lightweight which means a lot for long-haired girls like us:)

    Hope this helps!

    ~ Amber

PS: I checked, and Folica DOES ship to Canada!Recommended hair straightener?
Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist uses. I've tried many flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).
I have the one called and it ends with bliss...I think the first one word is baby but I'm not sure. It's really good and I would suggest getting the straightner with small to midsize plate so you can work with your hair much better.
recomend a ghd,. they have ceramic plates, they keeep the moisture in your hair and you can do beautiful curls with them. and straightened hair last longer.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc.

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

I have an entire box of junk that I have bought throughout the years to straighten my hair, including other flat irons. Nothing has ever come even close to giving the results that Sedu does.

I have thick, curly hair which is prone to frizzing when it is straightened. I chose Sedu after my hair stylist used it on my hair. This really does work. It heats up quickly, and is very light and comfortable to use. I can finally straighten my hair myself and look like I came from the salon, in about 15 minutes. It does not dry, break or damage my hair in any noticable way. Best yet, my hair style last for days.

I have an iSmooth and find it works pretty well. But whenever you straighten your hair, it is damaging. Heat styling products, no matter how ingenius, are very distressing to hair. Use a straightening balm, or something else that will protect your hair from heat damage.
the InStyler is very good i have very curly hair and it strighten it buy it its worth it
well i think think the CHI staightener is the best of all of them

    its really worth your money!

about 170-200 bucks if you want a really good one!

just make sure you put serum in your hair first =]
Any ceramic one. Use a hair heat protector first and that should do it!
That's still going to damage your hair. Just like anything with heat.

and you could probably buy it on ebay, or on www.beautychoice.com

    hope i helpeddd (:
if u have real thick hair then use a small 1. if u have thin hair it doesnt matter. i have a connair 1 %26amp; it works great.
I'm a fan of the CHI products. Don't buy ones from department stores. To get a good one, you need to buy from a professional salon and always use a thermal spray like CHI's each and every time you straighten your hair.
    CHSs.

I hate GHDs %26amp; they don't last at all.

I don't know where you get them in america but mine are pink, you can get them in all different colours. They're proper professional ones (:

I know its not under 50 bucks but look 4 the chii iron on sale :)
Ummm...I have a Conair from Target for like 20 bucks. The heat is adjustable and it heats up in like 30 seconds. Works well for me.

Uhmmm, I kind of burned my scalp with my hair straightener the other day.....?

And now, when I feel around at that part of my scalp it's all scabby and flaky. It will go away in a few days, right? My hair won't fall out, will it? It really hurts, kind of like an open wound. (It's not bleeding.) But how can I make it stop hurting?Uhmmm, I kind of burned my scalp with my hair straightener the other day.....?
omgosh happened to me like a million times

i just put some vaseline on it like my hairdresser said

the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of it lol

don't grease your scalp or put any chemicals into your hair

    don't touch it

and no your hair won't fall out

it usually won't stop hurting really you just have to waitUhmmm, I kind of burned my scalp with my hair straightener the other day.....?
It's the same as when you burn any other part of your body. It will heal. Just give it a few days and avoid irritating it by touching it.
well you can make it stop hurting by not touching it or thinking about it. it'll heal soon in time.

What is the difference between $23.00 Ceramic Conair hair straightener and $35.00 Ceramic Conair Hair straight

What is the difference between $23.00 Ceramic Conair hair straightener and $35.00 Ceramic Conair Hair straightnerWhat is the difference between $23.00 Ceramic Conair hair straightener and $35.00 Ceramic Conair Hair straight
Most likley heat and weight.the more expensive one may get hotter and be lighter and the oppisite for the cheaper oneWhat is the difference between $23.00 Ceramic Conair hair straightener and $35.00 Ceramic Conair Hair straight
i really don't think there is much difference.. i have a conair straightener that i got from walmart.. its white and the plates are red, and i didnt spend that much on it (probably about 25 or so) and it works really good. actually better then an older one i spent 95 dollars on.
the more expensive they are the better they are. FACT! go for the more expensive one, its not more expensive anyway and it can probably get to a higher heat and will straighten faster and last longer. I just brought new ones that straighten in a stroke and there brilliant! My last ones lasted 5 years of high heat everyday use. My new ones are remmingtons and cost me about 拢60 GBP i think thats about $120? Make sure you read up on the features
    go with the cheaper one.

i bought a remington wet to straight for 35, and a chi for 120. the remington does ten times less damage, and my hair looks better.
12.00 plus tax no difference between the two for that little amount of savings
Well one can have more features and the other one may not have so many features it all depends! good luck i hope I helped! =]

Hi what electrical adaptor do I need for my hair straightener in Dubai. I live in Australia Thanks?

It's a UK style plug which is used in a lot of countries in the world. It has three large rectangular pins. A multipurpose travel adapter should do the job.Hi what electrical adaptor do I need for my hair straightener in Dubai. I live in Australia Thanks?
the same one as in britainHi what electrical adaptor do I need for my hair straightener in Dubai. I live in Australia Thanks?
    220V 50Hz

It is three rectangular pins but not arranged like the ones in Australia - imagine its a face but instead the eyes are horizontal, not slanty

    see picture on this website:

  • Cheap but good hair straightener available in australia?

under $100! mine makes my hair smell burnt... somehow makes it greasy! and hardly does anything.... :(Cheap but good hair straightener available in australia?
    I'm from melbourne ^_^

Trust me, save a little bit more and get a GHD. They are AMAZING. I can curl my whole head in under 10 minutes...and I have longish, thick hair. It straightens so well as well - stays straight all day. I'll never have a bad hair day...they are $300 though.. :)

Cheap but good hair straightener available in australia?
I can't recommend a specific brand as my own one is well over that price range. However, I would suggest that it isn't your straightener making your hair feel greasy ...

This could be for several reasons, including your conditioner, wether you washed it out well, or any products you are using in your hair. Stress and fatigue can also make your hair temporarily greasy.

You could try not claming the straightener on a piece of hair for so long to stop the burning smell.

My last hair straightener was a Remington for about $30, with ceramic plates, which spread heat evenly.

Always use heat-protection products when straightening your hair to protect it!
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.
